Striker Elliott Romain will be leaving Eastbourne Borough. By agreement on both sides, Elliott's contract has today (Thursday 24th) been cancelled with immediate effect.
With the club's change of financial circumstances, he needs to review his options, and in particular his work outside football may mean a move nearer London.
His service to the club, over two spells at Priory Lane, has been absolutely terrific. Elliott's explosive goal-scoring talents and his whole-hearted commitment to the cause have made him a firm favourite, and he leaves with the very best wishes of all at the club. Both he and indeed his wonderful family will always be welcome at the Lane.
Elliott, now a free agent, will be seeking a new employer for his undoubted talents - and he will not be very long in finding one!
But he leaves us with this message: "I would like to place on record my thanks and real appreciation of all the support I have enjoyed at Borough - from management, team-mates and supporters.
"I was given great opportunities which have furthered my footballing career, under Tommy in my first spell, and now again more recently. Both I and my family will always have Eastbourne Borough close to our hearts."
Thanks, Elliott - and likewise from the club's side. You never quite leave the Lane, and we'll always be delighted to see you.
