Tommy Widdrington take control of his first game this weekend at Sutton United, as the club aim to secure their league survival.
The former Southampton midfielder and Salisbury City manager faces a tough task in taking over a team low on confidence and traveling away to a team who have enjoyed a successful campaign.
Sutton United currently sit 5th in the league, and Borough’s new manager will hope for some ‘new manager syndrome’ as he takes control of Borough, only the second manager to do so in 13 years.
Widdrington has bags of experience to pass onto his new players, and the fans will be hoping he has an immediate effect, after Borough have started to slide down the table, not winning in the Blue Square Premier since the beginning of December.
The new manager met his new players and took his first training session with them this week. He added: I am delighted to come to Eastbourne and join a club that has such a good reputation, and I am looking forward to being part of another successful era for the Borough team.”
Widdrington will be joined by Coach Alan Kimble, who also obtains vast experience from playing throughout the leagues for clubs like Wimbledon, Charlton and Cambridge.
