“We are delighted to support Langney Wanderers in this partnership.”
John Bonar - Chairman EBFC
..... Eastbourne Borough Football Club and Langney Wanderers Football Club are delighted to announce that the two clubs will ground-share at Priory Lane from the 2017/2018 season.
Eastbourne Borough FC Chairman John Bonar commented, ''We are delighted to support Langney Wanderers in this partnership. Wanderers have used Priory Lane in the past when circumstances have dictated that their home fixtures could not be hosted elsewhere.
Now that we have the 3G surface allowing more regular use it seemed a logical next step for both clubs. We look forward to their ongoing success and development over the coming seasons.”
Tracy Saunders, Secretary of Langney Wanderers said "Langney Wanderers are extremely grateful for this opportunity in ground sharing with Eastbourne Borough
This brings a number of benefits to moving our club forward in its next stage of evolution.
Firstly in terms of location it takes our club back into the vicinity of its roots. With this we expect to see the gates increase and hopefully appeal to the large Borough fan base as their second team when Borough play away.
Secondly the facilities both for home games and training are largely viewed as the best in the County League . This will attract players and no doubt the squad will raise their game to suit their surroundings. It also makes the prospect of home games being called off due to bad weather unlikely.
Thirdly we hope with the wider brand exposure on the bigger stage that will attract more investment & sponsorships into the club.
Everyone involved at Langney Wanderers are very excited about the future at Priory Lane and we are all working together to move the club forward.
We would also like to thank Eastbourne United for their help and support at The Oval this season - you have been excellent hosts."
In a taster of the deal Langney Wanderers host Oakwood today (22/4/17) at Priory Lane due to the unavailability to them of The Oval on this date.
