“All of these teams will be overseen by myself and the first team coaching staff, giving the most talented players the best opportunity to develop their careers .....”
Jamie Howell - 1st XI Manager
The club has long recognised the gap between youth and National League level football. The Academy and the Bostik U18’s squads have recently provided several players for the front side, Ryan Worrall, Harry Ransom just 2 names that have regularly featured in the clubs 1st team squad. However the club has now decided that a further level would aid development and have applied for an U23 position in The Southern Combination Under 23 Football League.
Then intention is for Jamie Howell, the 1st XI Manager, to be closely linked to all players below the 1st team, with players contributing to joint training sessions. However the Academy, U18 and U23 squads will have dedicated management squads for training and fixtures.
Manager Jamie Howell said "I have always wanted a clear pathway from our youngest teams through to our U18s. Now with the addition of an under 23s team we have bridged the gap to the first team. All of these teams will be overseen by myself and the first team coaching staff, giving the most talented players the best opportunity to develop their careers at the Countys' top non league football club. We will be holding some more trials for our U18 team on Tuesday 19th June following on from an excellent turnout at previous trials. The quality was very high and we are now aiming to incorporate players into the U18 and U23 squads "
Expressions of interest for players for our Academy, U18s and U23s teams should initially email the club via email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
