“We bring people and businesses together to achieve a common goal, for the love of community football.”
..... working alongside Commercial Manager Guy Pearson.
Matt is the founder of Route One Football Consulting, a company built to assist grassroots football clubs in building commercial revenue, but also to grow all aspects of a professional sports club including fan development, marketing and digital media.
“During my visits and meetings at the club, I’ve been really impressed with the progressive attitudes of the leadership team, as well as the desire to grow and take the club to the next level,” Matt said. “My job is not to worry about the results on the pitch, but to help the club achieve massive success off it. I’m really excited to work with the board, volunteers and fans for the good of the entire organization. Guy Pearson has also done a superb job up to now and I’m looking forward to partnering with him”.
Matt has spent the last five years working as a Senior Director for the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer. His role was to manage all revenue generation, programming and marketing for the Fire’s $25 million community and practice football facility in the heart of the city, as well as act as the liaison for all first team operations.
Of the Route One FC organisation, Matt said: “we bring people and businesses together to achieve a common goal, for the love of community football. This is done in ways that not only greatly help clubs, but also gives sponsors the opportunity to tell a compelling altruistic story to their own customers. Their financial support not only directly benefits clubs like Eastbourne Borough, but also funds the services we provide them in the form of marketing, digital and fan development assistance.”
John Bonar, Chairman of the club, said: “to bring Matt and Route One Football Consulting on board is a major coup for Eastbourne Borough Football Club.”
“Guy Pearson has done, and continues to do a fantastic job in the role of commercial manager. With Matt on board this can only enhance the commercial opportunities of the club.”
