4 years ago By Lee Peskett

Boro take a break from league competition and look to progress in the country's premier cup competition in deepest Essex.

Waltham Abbey .v. Eastbourne Borough
FA Challenge Cup 2 QR
Sewardstone Road
Waltham Abbey
Saturday 20/09/12
Kick-off 3.00 pm.

Following a welcome home win .v. Basingstoke Town The Sports will travel in good heart to Waltham Abbey. Boro dominated the game but it took a late Darren Lok strike to gain all 3 points. The club have strengthened the squad over recent days so the the positive vibe will be carried into the cup fixture.

The FA Cup does not hold happy memories for Sports fans over recent seasons and as such the club will prepare and treat the Rymans North side with all due respect. This respect is especially due as Waltham Abbey are having a great season, sitting 3rd in the Rymans North Division, but with a game in hand that could land them the top spot. The club have not lost since the first game of the season, a 4-0 reverse .v. Chatham Town, but have since gone on a 6 game winning streak. They won through to this 2nd qualifying round with a 1-0 win over Bedford Town, so with home advantage the game has all the hallmarks of a classic FA Cup tie.
