Eastbourne Borough .v. Maidenhead United
Blue Square Bet South
Kick-off 3.00 pm
Match Sponsored by Domsalla Building Services
Following a win at Tonbridge Angels on the opening day of the season and a defeat away at Bath City the United boss declared himself happy with a steady start to the season. That start has continued with 1-1 draws at Sutton and home to Staines, but no doubt he will look to start building his sides points tally as he brings his side to Priory Lane.
Boro, for our part, will no doubt look to improve on last seasons fixtures against The Magpies as a 1-0 defeat followed by a 2-0 reverse just 3 weeks later contributed to The Sports struggle to maintain BSBS status. Tommy Widdrington and Alan Kimble were not at the helm for either of these games so it is with fresh eyes that they will approach this fixture.
Boro manager Widdrington commented whilst preparing for Maidenheads visit "We are looking forward to getting back onto home turf. We have always said we want to make Priory Lane a difficult place for other teams to come and play and we believe so far we are on track to achieve that. We also want to continue to build on what we have started this season. There is a slight feeling of under achievement in the squad at the moment. We need the points tally, the results, to match the performances. To do this we need to learn to be more ruthless when in the ascendancy, more resilient when under the cosh. That said the clubs results and performances are very much on the upswing, and this Saturday the onus is on us to attack. We are looking to get back to winning ways and want to get all 3 points available this Saturday."
