Match Preview - By Jeff Marshman
Maidenhead youngster Alex Wall scored in the 91st minute at York Road to give United all three points but Boro’ will be eager for revenge and are looking to achieve the feat with their first league win of 2012.
The Sports go into Saturday’s game boosted by a dramatic late victory of their own, as Ben Watson’s midweek stoppage-time winner ensured Boro’s passage through to the semi-final of the Sussex Senior Cup at the expense of local rivals Lewes.
For Boro’ life without Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood continues although Saturday’s game will be a new and unusual experience for the Sports faithful as it marks the first time in thirteen years that the pair haven’t been in charge in the home dugout.
Club captain Ben Austin will continue to deputise in their absence and will ensure the Sports enter into the fixture motivated by the knowledge that three points on Saturday will allow Boro’ to leapfrog their opponents in the league table and increase the distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
